This book is so beautiful. It’s a cookbook, gardening book and of course a coffee table book that’s great for inspiration. It’s fresh and full of practical information. The food photographs are mouth-watering and the book is full of tips and suggestions. It’s the kind of book I love just thumbing through it for ideas and inspiration of what to grow and what to cook.
The author, Jeanne Kelley lives with her landscape designer husband and their children in Southern California so of course her year round garden zone is enviable. She is able to garden and entertain outside year round and it shows. Her whole family is involved in growing organic vegetables, raising chickens and a goat. Ms. Kelley is a writer for Bon Appetit magazine and has written and developed recipes for a variety of publications.
Jeanne Kelley takes us into her home and backyard garden. She shares the basics of what to stock in your kitchen pantry and the essential equipment necessary for a working family kitchen. The book is full of delicious sounding recipes made from fresh home grown ingredients.
