Every gift I received for Christmas this year was wonderful. I like to think my friends and family really know me because every single thing is something I would have picked out for myself. My family sometimes gets frustrated with me because I don’t like to give hints…I just want them to know. They roll their eyes and threaten to give me weird gifts if I don’t come right out and ask for specifics. They don’t want to make a mistake, but I think my plan is working; they really get me.
My sister gave me this very cool tool. She got it on the Williams-Sonoma website and it’s for embossing stickers to go on my fruits and veggies processed from my garden. I have to admit that although I knew it was an embosser I didn’t quite understand what I might use it for at first and thought maybe it was for embossing my garden books. I couldn’t wait to use it and grabbed one of my favorite garden books off the shelf and added my name plate. I proudly showed it off to my sister whose look told me she thought I was a bit daft. She wondered out loud what I was doing and I happily explained I was marking my books. She explained what the tool was for and wondered (again, out loud) at my confusion, as she had also given me a box of beautiful Weck canning jars and the little gold stickers, all set for embossing.
Now I can’t wait to create these wonderful little stickers. Next harvest season, my jars will be properly labeled and will look very sweet upon my shelves. I can order other plates to work with the embosser, including my initials, Janet Brown Studios or From the Library. Now I’m certain my sister knows I not only love the gift but I know what to use it for, how to use it and where to use it. Thanks!!
A perfect gift for you! Those labels will make your jars look very charming. Happy New Year!
