He may be up and away at college but when he called and asked me to send him a few more things I was at the ready. A couple of movies, his Superman t-shirt, stamps, envelopes, etc. Then he says if I have any red fabric, throw that in too. “What for?” I ask. “Oh, nothing, just throw it in.” I said “ I need to know what it’s for, there’s lots of different kinds of fabric out there.” “Okay” he says, “it’s for a cape. There’s a 5-K on Saturday and we’re supposed to wear costumes.” “Ahhh” I say casually. “I’ve got just the fabric.”
One yard of ripstop nylon (60” wide) will make the perfect cape. It's thin enough to tie, doesn't need hemming and it will flow in the wind appropriately. I love that I'm still making capes for him.
He's gonna hate you.
