My dad, from an old fashioned time when fathers didn’t spend time getting to know their daughters. He wasn’t the one who taught me to drive or throw a ball. He wasn’t there for school plays or sports events. Most of the things I learned from him were how he lived his life . The integrity I always knew was a deep absolute part of him, how being honest with him was most important, no matter the consequences, and that family always came first. It was all of those little day to day acts. Those were the things he taught his children and those are the parts of him in us that live long after he is gone.
