We worked outside all weekend, cleaning, weeding, sweeping, digging, edging, power washing. As tough as it is, there is something about working in the yard that is totally rewarding. Even if just for an instant, there is such gratification in a job well done. Not instant gratification, mind you…but gratification for an instant. The weeds will grow back, the dust will settle back into the cracks of the patio, and the lawn will need mowing in a day or two; but for now I think I’ll just sit back and enjoy the view. Every once in a while we should allow ourselves to do just that.
Our recent warm weather has given us s a bit of harvest. We stand and nibble berries before remembering to grab the camera. The marionberries are huge and delicious. The raspberries are sweet and delicate.
I picked a colander full of peas before they give up and succumb to the heat. Perhaps a pasta salad in their future.
Enjoy your week!
